Prep Centre Grand Opening

Oct 10, 2017

We were delighted to have the Honourable Ed Husic, Federal Member for Chifley officially open our new Prep Centre with
Pr Michael Worker, General Secretary Australian Union Conference and Mrs Jenny Gibbons, Principal on Thursday 12 October 2017.

There were over 100 guests who came to celebrate the opening with us including parents, friends, students and staff. In addition to those who opened the Prep Centre, our guests of honour included Pr Terry Johnson, President Greater Sydney Conference,
Pr Adrian Raethal, General Secretary Greater Sydney Conference, Mrs Eva Ing, Chief Financial Officer Greater Sydney Conference and Dr Jean Carter, Executive Director Education.

The ceremony included two special performances by the children in Prep and Years 3/4. Both classes performances were amazing. We are so proud of what the students of our Collage are able to deliver – no matter their age.

“Mountain View Adventist College is a great contributor to our community and this is such a tremendous investment in the skills and development of local students” Mr Husic said. “So many kids from all different backgrounds are brought together here and the continued investment in the school will help make a difference in their education.

I’m also impressed that the school extension focused on both mental and physical activity in young students – from new rooms to new play areas, very important.

This year Mountain View Adventist College received recognition from the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority for significant improvement in educational outcomes, with above average gains in Literacy and Numeracy.”

The ceremony was finished with a cake cutting ceremony followed by light refreshments – and the kids sure enjoyed the “special party” that they had.

We would like to thank everyone involved in making our new Prep Centre a reality. There has been a lot of hard work and challenges along the way and through God’s guidance, everyone was able to play their part to deliver this outstanding building. We would also like to thank our families and students who combined with our teachers and staff make Mountain View Adventist College a wonderful place to attend.
